Lots of crews can hang siding. The difference you notice from the curb is the trim: wide window surrounds, clean corners, gable accents and lines that meet where they should. That's the part we sweat. Family-owned since 1981.
The siding panel is only part of it. A high-end job adds trim that frames the house: wider window and door surrounds, corner boards, frieze and band boards, and gable accents like board-and-batten or shakes. It's installed over a lapped weather barrier with flashed openings, so it looks custom and keeps water out for decades.

These are close-ups from our own jobs. They're the details that separate a house that got new siding from a house that looks designed.
A thin J-channel around a window disappears. A wide, square surround frames it like a picture and gives the wall depth. We carry the sill into a band when the design calls for it.
Switching to board-and-batten or shakes in the gable, with a frieze board between, breaks up a big flat wall and adds the character you see on custom homes.
Rooflines get the same attention as walls: wrapped fascia, vented soffit and craftsman brackets kept or restored so an older home keeps its personality.
Covering a bare block foundation with stone-look skirting grounds the house and hides the gap most siding jobs leave at the bottom.
Corner posts, porch posts and door trim are wrapped and lined up so the trim reads as one clean system around the whole house, gutters included.
Before any siding goes up, the old material comes off, the sheathing is checked, and new wrap is lapped and taped with flashed openings. You won't see it, but it's what keeps water out.
When you compare quotes, ask each contractor how they handle these items. It's often where the price difference comes from, and where the finished look comes from too.

Both of the materials we install can look premium. The right choice comes down to the look you want, your budget and how much hail your neighborhood sees.
Modern premium vinyl, like the CertainTeed Restoration Classic we installed in Zumbro Falls, comes in deep colors and real wood-grain textures.
Deeper texture and crisp shadow lines, with trim boards that can be painted any color. Treated to resist moisture, termites and fungal decay.
Combining profiles is the easiest way to make a house look custom.

“Siding is what you buy. Trim is what people notice.”
Mid-project, you can see it plainly: the same house, two different looks. New siding alone is an upgrade. New siding with the trim done right changes how the whole property reads from the road, and it's what buyers notice if you ever sell.
We're a family-owned company out of Zumbro Falls, and we've been doing exterior work in southeast Minnesota since 1981. The same crew that measures your house is the crew that trims it out.
We walk the house with you, measure, and talk about the look you want.
Siding, trim and color samples held up to your actual house, in your light.
Clear pricing with each trim upgrade listed so you can choose.
Tear-off, sheathing check, wrap and flashing, siding, then trim. Most homes take under a week.
Magnetic nail sweep, cleanup, and a final walk with you before we call it done.
The panels are only part of it. A premium installation adds trim that frames the house: wider window and door surrounds, corner boards, frieze and band boards, and gable accents like board-and-batten or shakes. It also goes over a properly lapped weather barrier with flashed openings, so it looks custom and keeps water out.
Trim is usually a small share of a full siding project compared to the panels and labor, but it has the biggest effect on how the house looks. We quote trim options line by line so you can see what each upgrade adds and choose what fits your budget.
Yes. Mixing profiles is one of the best ways to add character. A common combination is horizontal lap siding on the main walls with board-and-batten or shake siding in the gables, separated by a frieze or band board.
Both can look high-end when the trim is done right. LP SmartSide engineered wood has deeper texture, can be painted any color and holds up well to hail. Premium vinyl, such as CertainTeed, costs less, needs no painting and comes in rich colors. We'll show you samples of both on your house during the design visit.
Most siding replacements in the Rochester area take under a week once work starts. Homes with extra trim detail, gable accents or stone-look skirting can take a few more days. You get a schedule before work begins.
Yes. We plan siding, trim, soffit, fascia and gutter colors together, and we also install roofing and seamless gutters, so the whole exterior is designed as one package instead of pieced together.
On a full replacement, the old siding comes off, the sheathing is inspected and repaired where needed, and a new weather-resistant barrier goes on, lapped and taped, with window and door openings flashed before any siding is installed.
We serve Rochester, MN and southeast Minnesota, including Byron, Kasson, Stewartville, Pine Island, Oronoco, Zumbrota, Zumbro Falls, Chatfield, Lake City, Plainview and Mantorville, across Olmsted, Wabasha, Goodhue and Dodge counties.
